Your favourite musicians and why
I was really looking forward to doing this particular challenge as I loooove music. It surrounds almost everything I do in my life, making me happy as Larry. I am going to have alittle natter about two particular bands that are regular staple listens on my Ipod.
Spoon
I absolutely adore this band. They are always guaranteed to pick me up, making me feel extremely happy and giddy. Spoon have this wonderful presence where you sense it is all about the music for them. Great care and attention is given to the way they produce their music where you hear nuances throughout their songs which add even more depth and quality to their sound. With each album they release, they evolve and get better every time. Same goes for their live performances too: they have such an exuberant energy, you can't help it either and want to dance your bloody arse off!
Spoon create super catchy songs that can only leave you singing along and moving your head/body (whichever you jiggle the most)! This band is beyond all the praiseworthy words that can be used so check them out and see what you think:
Spoon - Is Love Forever
Another one of my favourite bands is:
Death Cab for Cutie
This band, guys. I love, love, love as much as Spoon. Their music has the ability to touch my heart in a way which speaks to me on so many different levels. Yes, this is what this band does to me...! The lyrics and composition of their songs are achingly beautiful dealing with issues of love, death and life itself with all of its complexities. Death Cab have helped me through many tough and memorable times in my life that I can only be grateful I found this band when I needed them.
Their sound is growing ever more epic with each passing album which I love because they are producing music that speaks volumes about their talent. Much like Spoon, their music is universal so one song is all that is needed to realise how special they are. Take a little listen...

Love Death Cab!!
Just wanted to reply to the comment you just left. I know what you mean- when I was growing up I just didn't really think much of being Chinese because well, it was just there. Now that I'm older, I appreciate it SO much more what with the food (I LOVE congee with the thousand year old eggs too!) and all the funny little traditions. I guess one day I just realised that I am way more Chinese than I thought I was...can't live without my rice for example!
Oh I would love to live in HK for a few years, we'll see, being close to family is definitely a good thing and it's also quite exciting isn't it? So happy that you enjoyed the post- it was so much fun (but also torturous) to put together!!
Spoon are the best. x hivenn
I LOVE SPOON! Haha :) Also, Death Cab is fantastic as well <3 Nothing beats some good ol' bands <3
Spoon and Death Cab are def. are my list of favorite bands as well :) I've been a death cab fan since middle school and was always that young teen at the concerts, dancing all goofy with my friends. Ha!
And creeping on the top comment, love congee <3
When you say you speak another dialect at home...is it hakka? My mum's side are all hakka people...sadly don't speak it but I understand it :)
